Baby R wanted to stay awake and party (and snack!)  for the first half of his session, but Mama and I worked our magic to get him to sleep for some sweet sleepy photos! I was happy to include some props in this session that had special meaning to his parents. Big sister let me take some shots with her and baby, too. I want to encourage parents who don’t have a “textbook” newborn shoot experience, at least in the beginning; I will patiently wait on Baby, so don’t fret if he/she doesn’t fall asleep right away! I am as much a baby whisperer as I am a photographer, which is why I love newborn photography =D This sweet little guy also had jaundice and I was glad to wait on his bilirubin to get to healthy levels before photographing him. My FAQs page encourages parents to bring babies in for photos during their first 2 weeks of life, but I am flexible if circumstances aren’t picture perfect (pun intended!) On to the good part!
